Janice H. is raising her 2 grandchildren: Tayshaun (2) and Nivea (1). Her son and the children's mother were homeless and “involved with a lot of unhealthy behavior.” On July 5, 2010, the children's mother called Janice and asked if she would take the babies. At the time Janice was also in need of medical treatment, but she stepped up to do whatever necessary for the sake of her grandchildren. She met the mother and literally picked the babies up off of the streets. Tayshaun suffers from asthma. At the time, Nivea was 5 months old and had a severe case of whooping cough and pneumonia. “It has been a very challenging experience raising 2 toddlers. I did not have any income and we became homeless in the process. It was not an ideal situation from our eyes, however Thank GOD for HIS Plan. I have struggled to buy many items for the babies as well as for myself. But with their father now in State Prison and their mother in need of special mental health care, I am Happy Glad to be caring for my grandbabies but it is extremely difficult. With two babies in diapers, growing out of clothing, and their health needs, and taking care of them by myself, any assistance we could receive is a Blessing from the LORD.”
They need: 1500 basic necessities; $1000 medical bills; $1500 rent assistance
