Danell is a single mother to Labaan 6, and daughters Ayaan 4 and Aliyah 2. “My children are my world!” This past year has been very difficult. She moved to MN 5 years ago with her ex-husband, who she divorced this year. Since that time, it has been very hard to make ends meet and provide the basic needs of food, clothing, and money to pay the bills. “My vehicle is broke down and I have no money to be able to fix it! I take my son to school on the bus, then take my daughters to day care, and then back on the bus to get to work which is 22 miles from where I live! We have moved from a 3 to 1 bedroom apartment. This year my children missed out on birthdays because I couldn’t afford gifts or cakes. I am struggling to buy basics and keep it going.”
