Donald S., his wife and son, Taylor (20), were hit with an F5 tornado. Their home sustained major damage and insurance only paid a tiny fraction of the $240,000 in estimated damage. "We lost everything, including photos, clothing, all the things that we had purchased with so much effort. Today we have no driveway, no outside building and 20 stumps in yard. I was also recently laid off from a job as a butcher at a local super market after doing this type of job for 25 years. I only draw $209 each week. My wife is a nurse and makes $240 each month. Our power bill is $375 each month, our water bill is $750. I also had a fall of 25 feet where I broke my back, leg, arm and ribs. I suffer from a lot of pain as a result, and my pain medications are very expensive. My son,Taylor, has a part time job at the same super market where I used to work, and he tries his best to help us with bills and to get daily food. There are weeks we don’t have food money. Please help us through these hard times. Thank you very much."
Update: Their house is still damaged and they still do not have the income to fix it.

As of right now my unemployment has ran out, all my utility bills are past due , I am behind on my rent and to add to my agony my only mean of transportation broke down. I am still unemployed and because my availability for employment is limited to the daytime hours, because my kids are in school. I am currently applying to different professor jobs all around the US, but in the meantime I have no income and my needs are piling up daily. I am in need and a helping hand will be appreciated right now, and as soon I am back on my feet I will try to help some of the wonderful families posted here at GiveLocally who have fallen in hard times. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity and for giving my kids and I hope”.

Tara W. is a single mother of four (Amarie 7, Lyric 4, Aaron 2, and a newborn) who recently left a negative domestic situation. She has no family or friends to support her financially. "It's been very hard for us but somehow I’ve managed to keep my head held high and ask God to keep giving me strength!!! I am a registered nurse's assistant, and at the moment I am unemployed which is very frustrating. It is hard to put food on the table for my kids and myself. I do not have a thing for my newborn baby and I am really scared. My goal is to go back to school and earn my LPN license. Someday, I would also love to be one of the ones who is part of a movement and able to make a difference in life for other young mothers who want to achieve goals in life! I love my children and there isn't anything in this world that I wouldn't do for them. One thing they can always count on from me is that they are very loved! God bless to anyone who is touched or can relate to my story! Thank you."
